How To Make Professional Videos (At Home Without Pro Gear!) - Influential Agent
I’m not telling you anything new when I say that video should be the main focus of your real estate business. However, there’s a big misconception that you need to invest in professional equipment or hire a crew before you can start making videos. I’m going to show you why that’s totally wrong.

These three simple tips will help you create videos with your phone that look incredible.

Shoot in High-Quality Resolution

Many YouTubers and vloggers use DSLR cameras, but you don’t need one to create a high-quality video. In fact, all you need is a smartphone with a great camera — I use my iPhone for all my videos.

Just make sure to configure cinematic settings before you start filming.

Use Plenty of Light

For the best effects, shoot in a room with plenty of windows and natural sunlight. Make sure the light is in front of you (rather than behind you) when you film. Another source of light I use in all my videos is a ring light — this creates an attractive halo shadow to brilliantly outline the subject of the video.

This provides a dramatic look that makes your video appear more professional. Plus, it conceals things like wrinkles and blemishes.

Make the Audio Crisp

A quality microphone will guarantee that the sounds you capture during filming are the sounds you want captured. A good directional mic will prevent fuzzy voices and loud background noises.

If you’re on a budget, pick up a wired lavalier mic. I love the iRig lavalier mics — they’re what I used when I first started making videos. I’ve since upgraded to a wireless lavalier mic, which gives me more flexibility when filming.

Bonus Tips

There are a couple of other things to keep in mind when filming.

One is stability. It can be very distracting for viewers if the video is bouncing up and down. Plus, this can significantly diminish the quality of your video. You may like to consider buying a tripod — or you can just prop your phone up on a stack of books. If you’ve purchased a ring light, that will serve as an illumination device and tripod in one.

The second consideration is background. You need to have a clean and organized background — free from clutter that could distract from your message. Preferably, there should be little or no movement in the background to ensure you remain the star of your video. Think home staging but for video.

The Takeaway

Now you know all the tips and tricks all the top agents use to make incredible-looking videos. Better yet, you’ll need nothing more than a quality phone and just a minimal budget for additional equipment.
